Manual Therapy

Manual therapy is a technique used by physical therapists that involves the therapist using their hands to mobilize or manipulate joints and soft tissue. This can control pain, increase joint range of motion, reduce soft tissue inflammation, induce relaxation, facilitate movement, and improve function.

Exercise Therapy

This involves using exercise to help improve function and in some cases reduce pain. This can be used to increase: strength, mobility, endurance, balance, and proprioception.

IMS

Intramuscular stimulation (IMS) is a needling technique that inserts fine acupuncture needles into dysfunctional and tight muscles.  This causes the muscle to relax and can help reduce pressure on tender joints and muscles.  Advanced training through UBC is required to perform this technique.

Vestibular Rehab

Vestibular rehab involves the treatment of dizziness, vertigo, and balance issues. Different technique and exercises can be used to achieve this.

Electrotherapy

Electrotherapy uses electrical modalities including:

  • Ultrasound
  • Transcutaneous Electrical Stimulation (TENS)
  • Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS)
  • Interferential Current (IFC)

Post Op Therapy

Therapy that focuses on specific surgeries:

  • ACL reconstruction
  • Hip replacements
  • Knee replacements
  • Rotator cuff repairs
  • Spinal surgeries
